• Bioconjugation improves some of the features Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes The intrinsic properties are not usually altered by bioconjugation. Peptides among most common biomolecules used in bioconjugation with complexes. bioconjugates were for different purposes. In last decades, number articles describing synthesis, characterization and applications ruthenium has significantly increased. One reasons is their tuneable, outstanding luminescent properties. However, have no selectivity towards cancer cells, making them impractical, example, certain biological applications. To overcome this drawback, these been conjugated to biomolecules. review, we describe complex-containing reported so far as, anticancer drug candidates, sensors or biocatalysts. reviewing ruthenium-containing nucleotides DNA conjugates since topics recently reported. multiple ways attaching (i.e., peptides, antibodies, carbohydrates, lipids vitamins) core also summarized.
